HUMAN CENTERED DESIGN
Marina dennis.
To keep it straight forward, I am a Multi-disciplinary designer at the beginning of her career. Spending the last few months working in-house, for luxury glamping outfit, Collective Retreats has been a sprint. When you are part of a three-person design team, you take on a lot of responsibility fast, from internal code reviews to collaborating with consultants and outside architects. We produced brand standards, and site planed 30+ potential retreat locations in 6 months.
Moving at a fast pace is a specialty of mine, to do that I pride my self on efficiency. Peak performance is about not only understanding processes, but the client's priorities — their reality.
For me, every design is for real people. Each construction has a point. A client comes to you with a desire, but a client returns for the other things an architect gives them. These other things are the soul of human-centered design. A little soul is the purpose of my practice, and each project has its goal listed with it in my portfolio.
My personal life is just as goal-oriented.
Whether that be chasing speed on a bicycle or plotting my future lair. I am excited to try it all, from canoeing to mastering shoe-pastry.
I received a Masters Degree in Interior Architecture and Product Design, in 2018, from Kansas State University.
